Mr. Soddon, who often compels 'the admiration even of those who are not with ~ him politically by his spirited ' .and ■■■■ statesnwnliko • patriotism, should indulge in those positiyely stupid outbursts of sickening brag which ; make-every decent colonial blush for; hi- 1 country. -Mr. Seddon can, when he pleases, be everything that is taotful and dignified, < but when he gets .on his legs at a public— j; banquet is the ridiculous name it goes by— J lie. " never opens his month without putting j bis foot in it," to quote Tom Hood.
