ENTERTAINMENTS AND MEETINGS.
HAWTREY COMEDY COMPANY. The sterling qualities of " A Message from Mars," which was repeated at the Opera House last night by the Hawtrey Comedy Company, have becomo very generally recognised, with the result that full houses have greeted each performance during the week. Playgoers will note that to-night will be the last opportunity they will have of witnessing the novel and interesting piece. To-morrow night "Tom, Dick, and Harry," described as one of the funniest farce-comedies of the day, will replace " Mars." The company's season definitely terminates on-Monday night. DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY. There was an excellent attendance at the City Hall last night when the new artists and each member of the company wore all heartily applauded. Sivroni and Selvini have established themselves in high favour, the former's " indiarubber dance" creating considerable enthusiasm. M. Lemont's cleverlytrained dogs is a very enjoyable item. Mr. Wallace King's fine singing is nightly rewarded : with loud and prolonged applause. Pope and Sayles, the popular end-men, continue to be received with pronounced cordiality. .Madame Dante's pretty dance illusions are .one or the "Features of the programme. l The Coleman Sisters, Miss Olive Lentpn, and Miss Ida Clarkson are all warmly applauded for their admirable contributions to a vory successful programme.
