(Received .January .24, 10.13 p.m.) : London, January 23. • One hundred and fifty Boers surprised 25 Yeomanry acting as an escort to 35 natives at Lindique Spruit, who were engaged cutting grass. The Yeomanry made a gallant resistance, but were overpowered. One was _ killed and seven wounded. Four unarmed natives were shot in cold blood. Six Boers were - killed and four wounded.
