Horses: On Friday, at the- Durham Yards, wo had a full yarding. ; Competition for heavy draaghts and those of a good stamp j was keen, other kinds were somewhat neglected. Heavy draughts sold from £23 to .£3B 12s 6d; 'medium do., £23 12s :6d to £31 ss; light harness horses, £12 15s to £19 17s 6d; hacks, £415s to £13 12s Cd. Cattle: At 'the Newmarket Yards on Toesday: dairy and store stock were yarded in larger; numbers than Tor many weeks. The MO head of ttore cattle that were advertised, wefe both well bred and in good condition, and sold freely. Four-year-old bullocks, from £6 5s to £7; three-year-old ditto, £5 17s to £6 ,2s 6d; two and a-half to three-year-old do., £4 15a to £5 12s 6d; store cows, £2 10s to £3 15s; heifers, £1 17s to £2 18s; calves, £1 4s to £1 17s. Beef was yarded in average numbers, and bidding was brisk, up to fully last week's prices. Tuesday, and prices were somewhat easior than the previous week. L. Wright's Jersey stock, horses, > etc., held at " Ravensthc-rne," Bombay, there was a record attendance, bayers being present from Waikato, Whangarei, Taranaki, and all the surrounding districts. Amongst some of the prices realised for the Jersey* were the following: (Cows), Gossip 11., 25 guineas; Hazel, 27 guineas; Grizette, 26 guineas; Iris, 21 guineas; (heifers), Moonbeam 11., 16 guineas; Hawthorn, 17 guineas; Crizzelle ; IV"., 17 guineas; seven-iaouth-old bull, 21 guineas. The bull, Sweet William, £3 guineas. . The herd averaged 19$ guineas. The pony cob, Dandy, made £21. Farm horses, from £10 £10 to £29 10s. . Hides: Wo offered a very large catalogue, competition being keen for all well got up lots. HUNTER'S OHAUPO SALE. At Mr. Hunter's yards, an Tuesday, there was but a moderate master of cattle—about 250 head of all classes. Dairy - cows were short of requirements, and there was a good demand for cows close to profit. Young stock were well represented, and sold freely at current rates. Only a few grown steers were offered, and the demand was rather dull. Empty heifers and other, stores sold freely, and there \va« a fair demand for beef.
