Jacob, two clergymen of the Church of England, arrived at Wellington last week from London to take up work in the Wellington diocese. The Rev. J. A. " Our Dairy Flat correspondent writes: — A quiet wedding took place on New Year's . Day, at the residence, of Mr. and Mrs. D. Lochead. It was the occasion of the marriage of their eldest daughter. Miss Sarah Lochead, to Mr. Francis-Pearce, of Auckland. The Rev. 11. Ferguson, of Devonport, performed the ceremony. A wedding party was given in the evening, •when at the invitation of Mr. and Mrs. Lochead friends and neighbours assembled together and a pleasant time was spent. A dance was held in the schoolroom; on New Year's Eve. A large company gathered to dance the old year out and the : new year - in. The party broke lip at daybreak. Mr. H. Williams, who for the past three years has ably filled the position of stationmaster at Thames, and who has been appointed to the charge of the Rotorua station, left Thames for Rotorua on Saturday morning last, in order to take up his new duties. Prior to leaving, Mr. Williams . was presented with a handsomely-mounted enlarged photograph group of the Thames railway staff, as a token of their friendliness and respect for him, the presentation being made by Mr. Bell, of the Short-land station. The vacancy thus caused at the Thames station is to be eventually filled fay Mi".
