The second performance of; " Lady : Huntworth's Experiment,'' by the Brongh Comedy Company; drew an even larger attendance at the Opera House lust night than did the open-' ' ing performance.-, many people being" turned away long before the curtain rose. The new work was an enormous success in .London, where it created a profound sensation at Wyndham's Theatre. On being staged in Australia by Mr. Brough. pres3 and public were loud, in its praise, declaring it to be quite one of the strongest and most at- ' tractive plays of tha present century. " Mrs. Dane's : - Defence" : will be played for three nights only, and on Thursday and-Friday, " The Tyranny of Tears,"/ a comedy by C. Haddon Chambers, will ,be seen for the first time here. -Seats can be booked six days in advance at Wildman's. Sayles continue to receive unstinted applause each evening, and; other favourite performers are Miss Olive Lenton, Miss May Lewis, the " Great Keilderson," Mr. Richard Shepherd, <- Mr. Alf. Holland, and Mr. - Fred. Noris.;/ /On Monday next, by arrangement with Mr. ' Rickards, the special London ■ engagement of ; Miss Lizzie Kirk, the';' English serio, Mr. Frank , Leon, : comedian and dancer,' and Mr. Edgar Granville, the London monologue entertainer, will make their first appearance in, New Zealand.
