The first issue of the Auckland Weekly News for 1902 . is an interesting number. The great racing event of the Auckland year —the A.R.C. Summer Meetingis veil depicted. Rapid photography by the Weekly :, News special camera artists shows the various races in their different stages. The Auckland Cup race, now the most important; race in New Zealand, is shown at different stages from start to finish. The Great Northern Foal Stakes,, the Railway Handicap, and other races';: are equally well depicted.. Groups of ladies on the lawn, of ticketholders at the totalizator, and various scenes interesting alike to those who saw the races* and those who did not are giveu.' The New Zealand i lawn tennis championship meeting and open tournament provides a series of. illustrations, and the play and the players are well depicted. A further selection of photographic .competition pictures provides some handsome and ■ interesting illustrations, including New - Zealand bush scenes.'
