AUCKLAND CALEDONIAN SOCIETY'S SPORTS.

The Auckland Caledonian SocietyV annual sports, held in the Domain Cricket Grou.ul yesterday afternoon, were most successful. It is estimated that there were some 2500 onlookers present. The competitions in nearly every case were keenly fought, and the contestants all round acquitted themselves with credit, and the spectators evinced the greatest interest in the proceedings throughout. The quaint Scotch dances, etc., when well done, are always well worth seeing, _ and those provided yesterday added additional interest to the proceedings. The appleeating races, etc., were very popular with, the crowd, and no one could complain ot the entertainment nrovided. The secretary (Mr. H. W.Diggens) and treasurer. (Mr. W.
