MR. ASQUITH AND THE WAR.
(Received December 21, 1.15 a.m.) ■ London, December 20. Mr. Asquith, speaking at Bilston, said if Lord Rosebery's speech did not transform at any rate it cleared and defined the situation. The union of all parts of the Empire was consecrated by imperishable memories and demanded an honourable and durable peace and meanwhile the prosecution of operations with unflagging valour and alertness. He eulogised Lord Kitchener as a great and patient general. .
