The prices ruling were about on a | par with those at the last sales. j AUCKLAND PRODUCE MARKETS. * The local produce markets have been very brisk during the past week in all classes, and supplies all round were very heavy. Tho potato market was glutted with poor and inferior samples, much to the detriment of good lines.- In the early part of the week sales were almost impossible to effect, but heavyclearances were made at the various auction sales yesterday, after which orders came freely to hand, and a better tone is now reported regarding good samples. Onions are in supply fully up to requirements. Grain allows but little change. Supplies of far- 1 mers' butter are none too plentiful, and is ! in good i demand. v Eggs sold under keen ; bidding at from 9d to Is per dozen. Poultry •was: plentiful, mostly old hens, which were lower ;in price. Roosters and turkeys sold high, . the latter reaching 13s to 15s each. Fruit : was , very plentiful, including three island and ; one Sydney. cargo, in addition to large local and coastal shipments.
