The entries for the examination for district scholarships tinder the Education Board closed oil Saturday. The examination will he held at Auckland, Thames, Hamilton, and Wha-ngai-ei during trie week beginning Monday, December 16. For senior scholarships there are 33 candidates (16 boys and 17 girls). _ For junior scholarships the number of candidates is 198 (122 boys and 76 girls).
