Very complete arrangements- have been made by the officials of tho Auckland Swimming Club for tho gala to be held in the Albert-street Baths on Wednesday evening, the 11th prox., and a good evening's sport nmy_ be safely anticipated. Tho Dunedin Amateur Swimming Club has decided to affiliate with tho New Zealand Annate in Swimming Association. .The first race for the ladies' 100 yds chamr pionship of England was decided at the Ravensbourne Club's gala, Westminster Baths, on September 25. Miss Thorp won in the world's record time of lm. 20 2-ss. Miss E. M. Hilson was second, and Miss A. Scott third.

England had an easy victory ovor Scotland in tho twelfth international water polo match, played at Glasgow on September 21, winning by 8 goals to nil. At the annual gala of the Glasgow Fairfield Swimming Club on Friday, September 20, J. A. Jarvis lowered the Scotch record for 1000 yds by 235., his time being 13m. 475. Tho 220 yds Scotch championship, decided on September 20, was won easily by J. L. Bailie, Lome S.C., in 2m. 565. Tho places were filled by A. Macmillan, Springburn Vulcan S.C., and J. S. Juille, Glasgow Southside .B.C.

In the half-mile championship Macmillan turned the tables on Bailie, who was also defeated for second place by W. Stewart, of Alios. Macmillan, who finished a length in front of Stewart, swam the distance in 13m. 4&is. On September 26 the graceful swimming championship of Scotland was decided at Glasgow. The tests were : PlaiD or breast stroke, side stroke, over-hand, and back swimming. J. Black, of tho Lorn& Club, Edinburgh, last year's winner, was again successful with 17£ points, Alex. L. Le-ask, Wast of Scotland, being only a point behind the winner, and J. Swanson, Alloa Club, third .with 15-g points. . : The last of tho Irish championships this season (the 220 yds) was decided on September 27 in Belfast. There were six competitors, and two preliminary heats were arranged. H. Bingham won the first heat, with H. Dookrell (Dublin) second, while the next went to G. Morgan Dockrell (Dublin), S. Semplo (Belfast) getting second place. In the final heat Morgan Dockr&ll was never headed, and won easily by 11yds from, H. Bingham, in 2m. 51e. The winner's time cuts the Irish record by 7s. i
