DAILY MAIL SERVICE TO WELLINGTON.

A. daily mail and passenger service between Auckland, New Plymouth, and Wellington ' ivas Started on Sunday, December 1. arrangements having been made for a steamer to leave the Manukau for New Plymouth every day of the week, except Saturday, while return steamers will leave New Plymouth every day of the week, except Sunday. These steamers will connect with express trains running between New Plymouth and'-, Wellington both ways every week day. There ' will thus be a daily despatch from Auckland and a daily delivery in Auckland of Southern correspondence. The steamer service between Onehunga and New" Plymouth will, as at present, be conducted by the Northern and Union Steamship Companies. The Northern Company's steamer Ngapnhi will leave Onehunga every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday, connecting with the morning express trains New Plymouth to Wellington every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and returning North on the arrival of the express trains every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evening. The Union Company will despatch a steamer from Onehunga every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, co".meeting with the express trains on the unliving mornings, and returning from New Plymouth every Tuesday, Thursday, and Satur- <■ day evening. Mails will thus be landed at 1 Onehunga every Sunday (for Monday's delivery), Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Friday, and Saturday morning. The daily service will be continued throughout the summer, but its continuance durin<* the winter months will depend on the success , of the experiment.
