There has been very little change in the local predate markets during the past week, and supplies in many iln%; have been only e<jual to requirements, whilst in other lines they have been short. Butter and eggs continue to command keen bidding at auction. With regard to butter prices ranged from go to 9;d per lb at auction yesterday, eggs realising from "Id to ?jd per dozen. Hams and bacon are a stiaue firmer. The potato market although at present weak, is unsettled. Onions have a hardening tendency. Poultry is in unsatisfied demand, ana sold yesteiday at the highest prices known for some years, j and the scarcity is likely to continue for some i time to come. Young pigs were in demand. i The fruit market has been well supplied from j Sydney, Tasmania, and San i raneisco. All ; lines sold well, excepting local oranges and j lemons.
