FIRE AT WELLINGTON.

A YOUNG WOMAN SUFFOCATED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] "Wellington*, Wednesday. A fire occurred during the night in a boardinghouse known as ''Whitehall, the back rooms of which were gutted. A servant named Nellie Payne, aged 19, was afterwards found dead in the damaged kitchen. .She had been sleeping in an adjacent room, and could have got through the door leading immediately into the street, out seems to°have lost her way and run right into the smoke and been suffocated. At the inquest a verdict ot death througa accidental burning was returned.
