THE SONOMA. The American mail steamer Sonoma arrived from San Francisco, Honolulu, and Samoa at 8.30 p.m. on Sept. 10. After inspection by Dr. F. W. Sliarman, the port health officer, and tho Customs authorities, the steamer berthed at file Quay-street Jetty No. 2 to discharge' her inward cargo, and left for Sydney on the following afternoon. Mr. CI. A. Hodson, the purser, to whom we are indebted for our files and despatches, reports: —The Sonoma, left San Francisco at 11 p.m. on August 22. and reached Honolulu on tie 28th, proceeding oil to Samoa on the morning of the 29th. Reached Pago Pago on the morning of the sth inst., and resumed the voyage a few hours later, reaching Auckland as above. Experienced fine, pleasant weather throughout the trip, with moderate trade winds and sea, with the exception of thick, showery weather off Pago Pago. Thence fine weather to arrival. The whole time on the voyage was 18 days 13 hours"39 minutes, the actual steaming time being 17 days. 15 hours 7 minutes.
