IN THE TRANSVAAL.
ATTEMPT TO CAPTURE DE LA REY. London, September 25. Fifty Northumberland Fusiliers on the night of the 18th left Lichtenburg, in the south-west of the Transvaal, to surprise a farm at Duikerfonte.in, expecting to capture De la Re\ and his staff. They rushed the farm at daybreak, capturing 11 Boers, but De la Key had fled overnight. In connection with the engagement at Utrecht, in the south-east of the Transvaal, Major Gough reports an additional 33 missing belonging to the G9ih Battery of Field Artillery, and three others.
