THE NEW PLY MOUTH RA IL WA Y FATALITY.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] New Plymouth, Wednesday. At the inquest on the body of Major Brown, who was killed on the Devon-street railway crossing on Monday, the jury returned a verdict of " Accidental death, no blame being attachable to anyone." A rider was added to the effect that in view of the dangerous position of the crossing as regards traffic the Railway Department be urged to divert the route. Porter Howlett, who was on duty at the crossing, was commended for his efforts to save deceased.
