The Ocean Accident and Guarantee Corporation (Limited) has been the first accident insurance company in this neighbourhood to settle a claim for a fatal accident under the Workers' Compensation Act. A voung man working for a contractor was killed on July 16. This corporation without any demur paid a cheque to the deceased's relatives on August 6, on an amount agreed upon between the two parties named, and without having to resort to any of the means provided under the Act.
