A special feature is made of Wanganui and its picturesque river. This prosperous and beauti- • ful town is fully illustrated through a number of excellent photographs, taken specially for the Weekly News. The publication of such admirable illustrations connected with descriptive letterpress, will do more than anything else could do to make people familiar with Wanganui, and to show people abroad the high standard of comfort, and the picturesque beauty to be found in this i town. Municipal and educational institutions are given, and certainly among the interesting features are the magnificent groups of schoolboys and schoolgirls, showing what the younger generation now growing up on the West Coast grass lands is like. Besides the numerous illustrations of .Wanganui, there are a number of miscellaneous views, including scenes at Rotorua and Hamilton, and other places. The Weekly New;s is now on sale, and can be obtained from all agents and runners. Father Benedict, 0.P., will give a short retreat to the children commencing to-day. Benediction each evening, and the closing service on Sunday afternoon The world-renowned , billiard champion, John Roberts, will play a match of 1000 up at ; Tattersall's Club this evening against a well- , known amateur.
