THE FOOTBALL MATCH.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —lii this morning's KHALI! appears a letter from 11 correspondent signing himself "Spectator," but I would like to ask "Spectator" if he and all those "many unfortunates' who went on the fool's errand on Saturday last do not consider it a "crying shame" and " disgustingly inconsiderate" of them to have lent their patronage to a football match under the circumstances. Would if not have been kinder to have shown their feeling for their fellow citizens in time of sorrow by staying away, instead of going and making the air hideous with their veils of triumph or hoots of derision, even if it premised to be the best football match of 20 seasons.—l am, etc., August 11, 1901. A Colonial Esquire.
