' Betting: 5 to 1 against Lowland Chief, 8 to 1 Repeater. - Half-a-mile from home Billy Marton looked all over a winner, but he failed to stay. Lowland Chief i and Repeater led into the straight. The former was ahead at the last hurdle, but blundered, leaving Repeater to romp in an easy winner by two lengths.* Time, 7m. 2£s. • As the .winner was badly beaten last "Wednesday at Epsom, his victory was received with mingled feelings. I furlongs in nice stylo at a strong pace. Somerled, Oyster, Marina, Cannie Cliiel, Glenaladale, Cadet, Daisy Chain, Favona, Straybird, Hotu, Strathnairn, Magnificent, Sant Ilario, Dur.das, Benzoin, Goldspur, The Needle, Mars, The Hempie, and Social Pest were all given useful tasks. Derringootte, with A. Hall up, and Haydn were schooled over the hurdles. The former shaped well, and showed pace. Haydn seemed to require plenty of riding. Right Metal, Natation, and Hairtrigger went t#ice round the big fences. Right Metal jumped well until reaching the post-and-rails the last time, when he failed to tise, and fell heavily, giving MeMorran a nasty shaking. Natation fenced in his usual good style. Hairtrigger mixed his jumping, but showed pace on the flat. Surrey was too good for Rex 11., being ridden by Mr. R. Hurley over the . round of schooling hurdles. Huntingdon, alone, jumped the schooling fences in capital style. Will-o'-the-Wisp was on the course and cantered. Dummy. Battleaxe. and Dartmoor arrived this morning all well. - Owing to the bad weather, the Hunt Club's meeting to-day was postponed, to Thursday. Seahorse was shipped to' Wellington on Saturday last by the s.s. Te Anau, at which port it is understood he will be transhipped to one of the direct liners leaving for the Old Country at an early" date. The annual meeting of members of th& Auckland Racing Club takes place to-day at two p.m. at the Central Hotel. ,
