!»-S, adjourned meeting of the Board of Education was held yesterday afternoon, there being present: Messr3. Bagnall (chairman), Wades, i'arrell, Lambe, and Muir. Dr. McArthur's Resignation: A communication was received from Dr. McArthur, reigning his seat as member, owing to his removal from Auckland. The resignation was «ioeepted with a cordial vote of thanks for gWe valuable services rendered by him during ;v aw term of office. The date of election of a successor was fixed for Tuesday, August 27. ' .Office Staff: The Board went into commitgiee> to consider the office work, and the i necessity for increasing the staff in conformity with the increased business of the deit? ? ent II was decided to appoint a lady ">orthaiid-\vriter and typist at a salary of s!w a " ye ° r< The salaries of the office staff ■ were . revised in detail, and increases were unanimously voted as follows: —Secretary, «»6f clerk, and two clerks, £25 a-year each ; accountant, £5 ° a -y ear ; junior clerk, £15 ayear. It was resolved to communicate with the educational authorities of Syd||S2y.W»d Melbourne, and with Mr. Riley, of I "euington, regarding the selection of a 7"h» of tllc school. An application from y IZj^P sOlll School Committee for a grant to r"~« a wnrkshon at the school was deferred. . .-
