FIRE AT BATHURST.
Sydney, July 22. Tkemain's flourmill at Bathurst was destroyed by fire. The damage is estimated at £5000. '

I A number of leading delegates at the recent Farmers' ,Convention have been interviewed on the Federal tariff question. They
are unanimous on the following points: —
That all revenue required should be raised through the Customs; that assistance should be given to local industries; that heavy duties should be imposed on New Zealand products till that colony federates with Australia; and that protection should bo given to the sugar industry, so that it may be carried on with white labour.
