WHALING IN THE NORM.
■ The Northern Company's steamer Paeroa :: arrived from the North late last night, bringf ing 30 casks of whaleoil from the whaling • station *t Whangamumu, a portion of the ; product from the whales captured during this season. On Monday last another large whale was taken by the whalemen, making "the " take" for the season so far 11 fish. The ; weather 1 had been ! very ■: bad "for ; operations ■ during the past week, but the whaling party are in -hopes now that the wind has gone v",i round to the westward, that they will have * 1 - ya. better opportunity of carrying out operations. The s.s. Ohijiemuri is to call in at Whangamumu to-day to bring down a fur- ' ther consignment of oil. '
