Tho Irish Ladies' championship was played this year at Portmarnock. The holder, Miss Rhor.a Adair, won in tho final from Minn Walker Leigh by 4- up and 2 to play. Team matches are growing in poularity in England, and international team matches are being suggested. Tho Headingly (English) G.C. lias been testing a teeing ground made of ashes (the large cinders at the bottom, and the ashes and small cinders _at the top, and firmly rolled), and finds it so satisfactory that relief tees are being constructed in this wry round the course for winter use, as the grans toes wear in winter. The teeing ground is built up in a wood frame. Willie Campbell, tho well-known Scotch professional, foi some years with (he Boston Club, died last November, and the club has appointed his widow to succeed him as olub pi cfepsional and coach.
