THE GREY STATUE.
TO THE EDITOR. "Sir,—There will be many readers of Mr. Ailom's appeal in bis letter of the 21st inst. for funds for the Sir George Grey statue, and no doubt there ar-? some who, like myself, are quite ready to contribute to what money may yet be required for the statue. It would, however, l>e as well, at this stage of the proceedings, if Mr. Allom would iniuca the committee to furnish some information as to what they have done up to this time in the way of obtaining a satisfactory statue. I should like, with many others, to know more about v hat is being done in a matter over which a most unaccountable and strange, reticence has been observed.— am. etc., J. W. Biiidgjux. June 24, 1901.
