CROWN LANDS BOARD.
I The Crown Lands Board held its ordinary ; fortnightly meeting yesterday. There werei present: Mr. Gerhard Mueller (Commis- | sioner), and Messrs. Harris, Lundon, and ! Renshaw. j Lands Disposed of: The summary of sales j submitted showed that 15.920 acres had been I disposed of from May 27 last to the 25t,:i ! inst., to 60 selectors. Kauri Timber Salt's: A return submitted showed that 1,543,624 superficial feet of kauri timber had been disposed of for £434 15s 6d. Rotorua Rifle Company: The Rotorua, Rifle Company applied for and was granted a quarter-acre section east of avid adjoining the bandstand reserve at Rotorua, with frontages to the parade, so as to enable the company to erect a volunteer drill-shod. "Thirds": Schemes for the expenditure of "thirds" were acknowledged and approved of from the following local bodies:—Ahuroa, Mangowai, Opaheko, Omaha, Waiuku, Ivawakawa, Drury, Matakoho, Pukeatuu, ; Onewhero, To Puke, Maungatawhiri, Whaj ngaroa Road Boards; Raglan ami Otamatea County Councils. Mountain Rimu Timber Company: A letter was received from the Mountain Rimu Timber Company, asking for transfers of sections 1, Blocks IX.. X., XIII., and XIV., Rotorua, from C. Kusabs to the company: also that royalty be fixed at low figure for timber that is cut front leasehold sections. It was resolved to grant the requests of the company. Mining Applications: The following applications for land were granted under the Mining Districts' Land Occupation Act, 1894 :—A. W. Porter. 50 acres, Block TV., Aroha; S. Dinar, 50 acres, Block IV., Aroha; T. Tierncy, 100 acres. Block 11., Waihi: F. Dauby, 50 acres, Block XV., Ohinemuri: Annie E. Hows, 90 acres, Arolia: F. Franklin, 100 acres, Block 11., Aroha; J. K. Harris, 10 acres, Block X., Ohinemuri; and -I. Sheehan, 40 acres, Block 1., Aroha. Maketti Land: Mr. Thomas Tanner wrote I asking the Government to lease the 600 acres ! of Crown lands in Block XL, Maketu. It was decided to grant the application., vi*., a year-to-year lease under section 116 of the Land Act. Education Reserve: The Under-Secretary of Lands wrote stating that the lands in thfe village of Kaiwaka proclaimed education endowment*, which the Education Board wish to sell, cannot bo disposed of.
