SOME CENSUS FIGURES.

GROWTH OF LONDON AND PROVE?-

CHAL TOWN'S. IN former " decennial periods" the eager public has had to restrain its curiosity for several weeks, at least alter the taking of the census : tint this time the first unit-vised results are now issued—within little more than a, month after the actual collection of the schedules. So far the rough totals issued relate only to the county oi London and the county boroughs, and in both instances the area* attestedwhich, in all metropolitan instances, and in many country ones, have been altered since ltfjl— have been made to correspond, so that in cases where an increase or decrease is shown over the iigures of ten years ago it must be understood that precisely the same ground is covered.
