MR. HALL-JONES AND HIS COLLEAGUES
A MINISTERIAL CONTRETEMPS. j [BY TELKORAP.tr.— association.] Wellington, Thursday. There has been some unpleasantness during the last few days, between the Minister for Public Works (Mr. Hall-Jones) and i some of the other members of the Ministry. j It appears that the Government were desir- j ous of reserving the whole of one wing of | Searle's Hotel for those members of the ] Royal suite that could not be accommodated j at Government lien v. Mr. Hall-Jones, j however, together \s liii his wife, occupied rooms in the middle of the wing which it j was understood had been taken for the : suite, and it appears that ho would not ! shift. All entreaties, even from Mr. Seddon ' and Sir J. G. Ward, were in vain. The con- \ sequence was that Sir Joan Anderson, of j the Colonial Office, had to be accommodated ! in another part of the building. The con- \ tretemps is frying very freely commented ] upon here. I
