Tnr-:m Royal High.-.'*:.*.-.?*" the Duke, and Duclicf-s ot Cornwall spent an exciting but pleasant tune at Rotorua. and vicinity today. It was u, hurry-scurry from out- place of interest, to another, in order to cover as many of the sights as possible in the time available, but withal the day's outing was most enjoyable and crammed full of interest tor the Royal visitors and suite, who were traduced: to scene.'? of natural grandeur and phases of human life and character which they bad never before hem, mil vliicli run be witnessed in no other part of the world. In spite of the gloomy forebodings of the previous day lit? morning broke beautifully tine. Nothing could have been more miserable or uninviting than Eotoru.i on Thursday night. It. was one continuous downpour of rain. Yet this morning the sun came out brightly, and throughout the d:;. the weather was pleasant:, the only drawhack being) that the. roads were heavy, and in some cases little better than a quagmire. On this account the decision of last night to strike out the. Waiotapu trip was adhered to. and the programme t'olhrn/ed for the la v v..as: A visit to the Isajir, the, opening of the Duchess bath and drive through tho Sanatorium grounds ; a visit to Oh intimity., where a brief Maori ceremony look place; a visit to the sights of Wliakarewavewa, and b:K:k to the racecourse, where the Maoris gave some j'oi dances and k.A-a.s, a small portion of the elaborate programme which has been prepared for their Royal Highasses by the Maoris. The principal part of the Maori display will bo given to-mor-row morning. From ike. racecourse the Royal par;/ drove bark to the Grand Hotel to lunch. Immediately after lunch their Highnesses and patty started for Tikitero, going across tho lake and returning by boar. The start from the (band Hotel «■-■> made at ten o'clock. Their Royal Higlneises rode in an open coach, accompanied by the '. iovtrnor and suite, ami a number of oiir.ers from the visiting uaish'-ns followed in bind !.ir vehicles.
