AUCKLAND UNIVERSIT COLLEGE COUNCIL ELECTION.
The poll taken yesterday for the purpose of electing a graduate to fill the vacancy on tho Council of the Auckland University College resulted in the election of Dr. W. C. W. McDowell, lb A. (N.Z.), M.B. Ch.M. (Edinburgh). Br. McDowell received '17 votes, and" the other candidate for the position, .Mr. G. Bigg-Wither, 8.A., 23. Mr. D. W. Rumanian acted as returning officer.
