THE SHIPPING LAWS.
[BY TELEGRAPH. ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Thursday. A deputation from ' the Seamen's Union waited on the Minister tor Marine to-day, and urged the consolidation and amendment of the shipping laws. The Minister, in reply, said the Government had the matter in hand, and the Crown law officers had been busy at it for some months. He hoped to be able to put a consolidating measure through the House next session.
