DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY.
At the City Hall last night Mr. Dix tendered a benefit to those deservedly popular musical comedians, the Leslie- Brothers. Notwithstanding' the wretched weather, there was a crowded house,''and the beneficiaries came in for a perfect ovation on their appearance in the second part. Their act was mast- enjoyable, and , they were recalled again and again, besides being the recipients of some presents. ' The Leslies have been in New Zealand for two years, and have won hearty approval everywhere. ; Their season at the City Hall terminates on Saturday evening next. Tho attractiveness of % last night's programme was increased by the reappearance of Miss Ivy Scott, who was warmly welcomed, and by a special item sung by Mr. Harry Fawcett. To-night the first appcaranoe is announced of Messrs. W. King (a tenor of great ability, who was heard here some years'ago in connection with a talented company of singers), Jim Marion, Harry Elliott, '; and Los /Wharton, the :• three latter' being comedians and knock-about artistes.
