CROWN LANDS BOARD.

A meeting of the Crown Lands Board was held yesterday. Present: Messrs. D. Lundon (chairman), Major Harris, and J. Renshaw. Mr. SV. C. Kensington was present in the absencs of the commissioner.

Summary of Lands Disposed Of: A return showed that 60,071 acres had been disposed of to 154 selectors, from December 21 lastto February 23.

Timber flotage: Tho renewal of 29 timber flotage licenses to the Kauri Timber Company for one year was granted, on the application of Messrs. Dufaur and McCormick.

Mahoenui: A letter was road from the Assistant-Surveyor-General, relative to the formation of the Mahoenui special settlement, and stating that the deposit of Is 3d per acre for survey had been made, and, further, that the price of the sections could not be fixed until the survey had been made. Land situated in Blocks XIII, and XIV., Maungamangero, and Blocks I. and 11.. \wakino E. The matter of granting a special settlement at Mahoenui was deferred till next meeting, when further information would be available.

Rawene: It was resolved that sections 247b and 247 c, town of Rawene, be leased by auction for 14 years at a rental of £8 per annum.

Cambridge: Leave was granted to the Agricultural Department to occupy sections 633 to 650 of the town of Cambridge East, until required for Government purposes. Kaiwaka: It was resolved that under clause 243," sub-section 3, of the Land Act, 1892, the Governor be recommended to consent to the sale of the education reserve in the village of Kaiwaka. Kohcroa: Selection of 430 acres in block 159, Parish of Koheroa, was granted to R. C. Downie.

Sunday Island: Bessie Dyke applied for south-east portion of Raoul or Sunday Island, also Meyer Island. Resolved that the Minister be recommended to open sections 4 and b, Sunday Island, or 2349 acres, as a small grazing run, at 3d per acre : also, that the occupation of Meyer Island be granted on a year-to-year lease, at 20s per annum. Waiau: Resolved to set apart section 46a, parish of Waiau, as a, school site.

Te Aroha: An application, under the Mining District Land Occupation Act, 1894, for 100 acres at Te Aroha, was granted to J. Black at .€5 per annum -entaj. Puhipuhi: An annual grazing license of 200 acres of the Puhipuhi forest was granted to Peter Allen at 50s per annum. Mangakahia: A year-to-year grazing license was issued to Jeffrey Hunter for 200 acres of the State forest reserve, Block VIII., Mangakahia.
