Mr. Burton*, S.M., ordered a fresh election for borough representatives on the harbour Board, on the ground of irregularities in that the returning officer voted, and that he added votes not deposited in the proper ha lot-box. CHRiSTCHTJitcH, Tuesday. Mr. F. Waymoutb has been elected chairman of the Lvttelton Harbour Board.

Dunewn', Tuesday. Mr. John Rogers, city engineei of Brisbane, was last night selected for the position of engineer of Dunedin. At a meeting last night it was decided to form a Young Men's Christian Association, and a constitution was adopted. The old association of the same name died many years ago. A meeting of the Dunedir Sbet'anders resolved to invite subscriptions throughout the colony to alleviate the distress of widows and children left destitute through the loss of so many breadwinners in the recent appalling fishing disaster on the Shetland Coast. At the Supreme Court James, White and Frank Watson were arrainged on a charge of attempting to steal from J. A. Braithwaite £109 13s 4dl, in money. White, who was out on bail, did not appear, and the bail was estreated. ■In Watson case the jury returned a verdict of not guilty, and accused was discharged.
