WIRTH BROTHERS' CIRCUS.

Mk. Philip Wirth, of Wirth Brothers' Circus, lias selected the reclaimed land at Freeman's Bay upon which to erect the pavilions, and a large staff of workmen.are engaged making the necessary arrangements for the coming of the circus, which will reach Auckland on Friday morning, giving ample time tc prepar : for the initial performance on Saturday evening. Messrs Wirtb Brothers, both of whom are Australians, have done a very big ton. with their circus since they left Auckland nine years ago. They have also had some stirring experiences, having played through Cape a Colony, Natal, and the Dutch Republics. They also wen f to Monte Video, and toured South America. On the night of their last performance tho circus building was destroyed by fire, and their wardrobe and other valuables burned. Two years were next occupied in travelling through the British provinces, and then followed a long season in the United States. They then went right through Southern Africa, and lip into Rhodesia, and from Mafeking, on the return tney, intended to go through the Trans- ' vaa.l, but were held back owing to the threatening war. Indeed, they were almost tho last caravan tc get ove* the Modeler River Bridg- before it was blown up by the Boers. They also visited Ceylon, India, Burma, the Straits Settlements, and .Java, and came on to Australia. Important future arrangemeats compel the proprietors to limit the Auckland season to one week. Consequently they h?ve determined to make the most of p the time by giving two performances daily, and the matinee performance will be given on Monday, March *, and continued daily during, thei. stay.
