OFFICIAL INQUIRY.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —rRESS ASSOCIATION'.] Gisborne, Wednesday. As inquiry was held to-day by the Collector of Customs into the stability of the ship Grace Harwar, which recently had a severe experience on the passage up the coast. All the evidence went to show that the ballast was sufficient ; tint the vessel was not tender, but thoroughly stiff under canvas, and that more ballast could not have obviated the damage to the vessel, which was attributed to meeting a tidal wave.
