SALE OF PRIZE STOCK.
At the Remuera Yards, yesterday, Messrs. A. Buckland and Sons conducted a sale of pure-bred shorthorn cattle, on behalf of Mr. T. D. Reid, of Waiuku, the stock, which were submitted by Mr. Walter T. Buckland, auctioneer, were from cows bred by Mr. Every Maclean and the New Zealand Land Associatioil The following lots were knocked down to Messrs. Colbeck Bros.: — Bull in service, Russell's Florist 11.. by Russell IV. (922)-Snowdrop -11. (2383), 14£ guineas; Lady Eleanor X. (cow), by Russoll'3 Florist ll. — Lady Eleanor IX., 7 guineas: Young Duchess (heifer), by Russell's Florist ll.—-Little Duchess (2373), 10 guineas; cow. Gladiolus 11., by Russell's Florist 11., 6 guineas; cow. Tulip (2374. Vol. 111., N.Z.5.8.), 10 guineas: cow, Clemency 11., by Baltimore—Clemency 1., 7 guineas. Mr. Alfred Kidd was tho purchaser of the following:— Cow, Little Duchess (2373, Vol. 111., N.Z.5.8.), first and champion, Franklin show. 1898, 29j guineas ; cow, Ladv Eleanor IX., (2450, Vol. IV., N.Z.5.8.), 25£ guineas; cow, Mantilini XIII., (2451, Vol. 111., N.Z.5.8.), 20£ guineas: heifer, Mantilini XIV., by Russell's Florist Mantilini XIII., 164 guineas; bull calf, by Russell's Florist 11., Lady Eleanor IX., 10i guineas; bull calf, by Russell's Florist 11., Mantilini, 8£ guineas; bull calf, by Russell's Florist 11., Little Duchess, 4£ guineas; bull calf, by Russell's Florist ll.— Queen Mary, 10i guineas; cow, Queen Mary (2371, Vol. 111., N.Z.5.8.), 12 guineas. A cow, Beatrice (2372, Vol. IV., N.Z.5.8.), went to Mr. Wm Taylor, of Tc Awamutu, at 14g guineas; also a heifer, by Russell's Florist ll.—-Beatrice, at 7 guineas. A number of grade shorthorn heifers in calf to Russell's Florist 11. went from 5 guineas to 8 guineas each.
