NELSON AGRICULTURAL SHOW.
[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Nelson, Tuesday. Perfect weather favoured the first day of the Agricultural Show. The entries are more numerous than at any preceding show, but the whole of the exhibits will not be judged till to-morrow, when the show will be opened to the general public by the Hon. T. Duncan, Minister for Lands. The draught horses are a fine lot. In cattle the Ayrshires are really first-class. Shorthorns are not very numerous, but the quality is excellent. Jerseys are also very good. Herefords are good, but polled Angus are not numerous. Of the sheep, the judge says a great improvement is shown. Romneys are very good, as are also Leicesters and Shropshires. There we some excellent Lincolns, Southdowns, merinos, and Corridales, and very fine fat sheep and freezers are shown. The pigs consist of Berkshires, Yorkshires, and Tamworthß, and are an exceedingly good class. There is also a good show of dogs, poultry, and implements, etc.
