QUESTION OF AUTHORSHIP.

TO TIIB EDITOR. Sir,—Allow me to correct a paragraph in your last Saturday's issue, stating that Princess Henry of Ploss is the authoress of two charming books, entitled " Elizabeth and her German Garden" and A Solitary Summer." The authoress is the Countess von Arneim, neo May Beauchamp. Her mother was a Miss Lassetter. of Sydney, and I havo known her for more than 20 years. As a girl of 14 she published a magazine, which was printed for circulation in her own family, by Waterlow, London. I may add that she has relatives in New Zealand, and is now preparing another book for the press. The Now York paper was entirely wrong in attributing tho above-mentioned books to Princess Henry of Pless.—l am, etc., A. Dawson, Hellyer's Creek, Birkenhead, November 23, 1900.
