New Zealand Herald Office, Monday evening. Messrs. Richard Abthcti and Co. sold by auction to-day an allotment in Cook-stre?,, 56ft by 83ft, with a residence of six rooms, for £435. An allotment, 23ft by 67ft, with a cottage of five rooms, in Cook-street, was passed in at £350, which was the highest Did. Allotment 73, Waikiekie highway district, Whangarei, 100 acres, part bush and grass, was sold for 83 per acre. The other properties offered were passed in. Messrs. S. Cochrane and Son sold by auction to-day a building site at Ponsonby, /O.t frontage to a private right-of-way, off Pon sonby Road, bv about 90ft deep, for £2 17s 6d per foot. " The western portion of lou 106 and lot 103, Panaroa, consisting of j<;o acres, realised £36. McNicol and Co. report:—At the Hamilton Borough Yards, on Thursday and Friday last, we offered just on 300 horses. Draughts of all classes maintained spring prices—in some instances the latter were exceeded hacks and light harness horses were a good deal lower and dull of sale: unbroken draughts sold readily; unbroken light horses were of a poor class. The vehicles advertised were in good repair and sold fairly well. Roadsters, £11 and £12 15s ; dog-cart, £12 10s; light buggies. £10 13s and £11 ss: spring drays, £11 and £13; light express. £15; light waggon, £25; roadster, horse, and harness, £20; Duncan drill. £10. Heavy draught mare from A. Karl made £49; five other draughts on the heavy side made £38, £ A O, £40 10s, £39 103, and £43 103; 25 medium draughts, three to seven vents old, made from £22 10s to £31; ' aged medium draught mares, £16 to £25; six light spring-cart stamps made lrom £17 to £21 ss; sound-mouthed but aged medium draughts, £12 to £15 10s; brokenmouthed draughts. £5 to £9: best hacks. £14 to £17; useful hacks, £7 to £12; lighter sorts, £6 downwards; best harness horses, £11 10s to £16 10a: useful harness horses, £8 to £10; lighter stamps, £4 to £7.
