HOW THEY SPENT THE PROCEEDS OF A ROBBERY; At Tottenham Police Court Bert ■. Walters, 15, errand boy, of 67, Willotfghby Lane, Tottenham, and Ernest Cooper, 15, boxmaker, of 38, Hampden Road, Tottenham, were charged with being concerned together in stealing from 38, Willoughby Lane, £24 in gold and silver, and four silk handkerchiefs, the properly of Thomas Bridge. Cooper made the following statement: — " On Wednesday we went to the back of Crow's Nest and got into the garden for some pears and grapes. We got into the house, and with a stair-rod forced open a drawer, in which we found a cash box and a bag. In the bag was £5 in silver and in the cash box £19 or £20. We came out and took tram to Moorgate-street, where we had a good dinner. We each bought a suit of clothes and a watch and chain. The next day we took train to Dover and had a holiday. When we got back we went to the theatre, and on Friday went to Ware, and on Saturday we went to Eastbourne and had a trip on the sea. We got tired of that and came back to London, and then we went to Clacton-on-Sea, where we were arrested." Witness added that prisoners had in the four days spent £16 or £17. Prisoners were remanded.
