That the Shareholders hereby sanction the increase of the capital of the Company, by the issue of 200,000 shares of Is each. 3. That the Directors shall not do or permit any act or enter into any agreement or undertaking which shall prejudice the interests of the Company in the option now held by the said Syndicate over the property of the Company. . Mason, age 13, New Zealand record for this age : W. Scholium, aged 14, O. Charlesworth. A. S. Hill, A. Dow, 100 words per minute : W. Paul, aged 12, New Zealand record for this age. W. Charlesworth and four others also passed at this speed. Most of these pupils knew no shorthand prior to Easter last. The Examination was conducted on Pitman Universal lines, but only 1 per cent, of errors was allowed). During the'evening the Principal, Mr. W. H. Hemingway, gave an exhibition speed test, writing unseen matter for several minutes at 190 words per minute. He did mean to try 200. The Examination Committee included : Horace Stebbing, Esq., H. G. Kidd, Esq., F. Leers, Esq., F.N.Z.A.A., Captain E. P. Hemingway, representatives of the New Zealand Typewriter Co., Limited, and about a dozen special witnesses as well. A feature of the practical training of this College is that groups of day pupils regularly attend the Law Courts.
