FATALITY AT DEVONPORT.

i A STABLE BOY KILLED. A sad accident, with a fatal termination, occurred at Devonport yesterday afternoon shortly after four o'clock, when a stable boy named Archibald Noonan, in the employ of Messrs. R. and R. Duder, met with his death. Noonan, with some other stable lads, was dressing down the racehorses in Messrs. Duder's stables, off Church-street, deceased's duty being with a mare named Volee, generally considered a very quiet animal. The accident was not seen by the other lads, who were busy with their charges, but a few seconds later one of the boys found Noonan stretched out on the floor of the box, with the back of his skull crushed in, evidently the result of a kick received from the mare. He was then unconscious, and died some ten minutes later, before medical assistance, summoned immediately on the discovery of the accident, arrived. Noonan had been in the employ of the Messrs. Duder for some time past, and his parents reside at Lake Takapuna.
