The Northern Company's steamer Wellington arrived from Whangarei yesterday afternoon, -with a number of passengers and a quantity of general cargo. She leaves for the same place ag;i.in to-night. Last night the Northern Company s steamer Muritai arrived from the Great Barrier, and leaves at 7 o'clock this evening for Kennedy 3 Bar. Kuaotunn, and Mercury Bay. Yesterday morning the Northern Company s steamer Waitangi arrived from Tauranga. Whaneamata. and Tairaa, and leaves tor the same places again on Monday night. The auxiliary schooner Waiauu sails for coast riorts and Gisborne on Wednesday next. The Union Company's steamer Taieri leaves Westnort for Auckland to-day. H.M.s. Mildnra left Lyttelton foi. When the barque La-ira, recently purchased by Captain Gibbons, is ready for sea. she is to proceed from Dunedin to Kaipara to load timber for Melbourne. The erection of a new lighthouse on Wondonga Shoal. Port Adelaide, will commence Short]-- and during continuance of the work a temporary riding light will be exhibited between sunset and sunrise. The now lignthouse is close to Largs Bay anchorage. TEE ABARENDA. The U.S. transport Abarenda is due at this port from Samoa about December 5. and will be docked and overhauled during her stay in Auckland, which is expected to be for some weeks. NEW VESSEL FOR AUCKLAND. Mr. J. J Craig, of this city, has purchased the barque Helene, now at Tonga, for the intercolonial trade, and she is expected to arrive at this port in about a month's time for docking and general overhaul. The barque is 158 ft long, 33.3 ft broad, and 18.8 ft deep, with a tonnage of 710. THE HAUROTO. The Union Company's steamer Hauroto was inspected by the health officer yesterday morning, and berthed at the Queen-street Wharf to discharge her consignments of fruit, afterwards proceeding up to Chelsea to put out her cargo of raw sugar. The Hauroto comes down the harbour this morning, and will be floated into the Calliope Dock for cleaning and painting. THE MOURA. The Union Company's steamer Moura left Qisborne fo. Auckland at 9 a.m. yesterday, and should arrive about the same hour today. She leaves for East Coast and Southern ports at noon to-morrow. THE MATATUA. The Shaw, Savill. and Albion Company's Bteamer Matatua, which left Londor on October 3, arrived at Hob art yesterday, and was to leave at midinght for Auckland. The Bteamer may be expected to reach this port on Thursday next. THE WANAKA. The Union Company's steamer Wanaka, Captain Edward Stott, arrived from Fiji at 7.30 p.m. yesterday, and anchored in the stream to await inspection by the health officer early this morning. The steamer took p cargo of coal from Port Kembla to Fiji, on discharge of which she loaded raw sugar through the group, and left Suva for Auckland on the 16th inst.. and met with fine weather throughout the passage.
