The Mayor of Birkenhead notifies elsewhere that a poll of the ratepayers will be taken on Wednesday, December 12, at Zion Hill schoolroom, with reference to the proposal to adopt the Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896, in the said borough. Mr. P. G. Ewington will deliver a lecture this evening in the Holy Trinity schoolhouse, Devonport, on "The Boer War," and the lecture will be illustrated with coloured limelight views.
