CLAIM FOR DAMAGES.

[BY telegraph.— association.] Dunedin, Wednesday. The Court was engaged to-day with the case of McKenzie v. the Roslyn Tramway Company, claim for £1000 damages, for injuries sustained by alleged violent sudden stoppage of the car on December 14 last, by which plaintiff had been permanently injured, her health being seriously impaired. The defence denied that the injury was caused by negligence or carelessness of the company. The tramcar on the day in question was suddenly stopped by the gripper striking something. The plaintiff was thrown against the seat, and had developed spinal concussion. The case has not concluded.
