COROMANDEL RACES. The Coromandel Racing Club hold their annual race meeting on Wednesday and Thursday next. Special steamers are advertised to leave Auckland to-day at half-past eleven a.m. and midnight; also on Wednesday at midnight, returning each day after the races. The return fare has been fixed at 5s each. OTAHUHU TROTTING CLUB'S SPRING MEETING. Mr. W. L. Lockhart, secretary of the Otahuhu Trotting Club, notifies by advertisement in another column, that ponies will be measured at Potter's Paddock on Wednesday, 21st, and Wednesday, 28th November, between three and four p.m. RETURN OF SEAHORSE. Seahorse was brought back to Auckland by the s.s. Talune, which arrived from Sydney yesterday. The horse is stated to have made a good recovery from the attack of influenza which he contracted in Victoria. Seahorse, it may be remarked; is amongst the entrants for the Auckland Cup. SALE OF BLOOD STOCK. An important sale of bloodstock was held at Melbourne on the 13th inst., when the following lots were sold : —Colt, 2yrs, by Bill of Portland Land, 700 guineas, Sir Rupert Clarke; colt, 2yrs, by Wallace Umilta, 650 guineas, Mr. J. N. Macarthur; colt, 2yrs, by Wallace—Bonnie Rosette, 500 guineas, Mr. H. Skinner; filly, 2yrs, by Light Artillery— Voice, 50 guineas, Mr. S. Miller. Alix (by Trenton Princess Alice, who finished third to Clean Sweep and Maltster for the Melbourne Cup, was purchased by Mr. C. F. Glasscock for 500 guineas. THE ST. ALBANS ESTATE. The St. Albans Estate (Victoria), made famous as the birthplace of many great racehorses, was submitted to auction last week at Melbourne, but the bidding only reaching £15,000. the property was passed in. The sum paid by the late Mr. W. R. Wilson for the property some four years back, when he repurchased it from the syndicate who became the owners by the winnig ticket in the art union falling to them, was. £25,000. THE TURF IN ENGLAND.
