8 ■"-&* [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION'.], -~ CnMSTCHURcn, Tuesday. [r The Christchurch Drainage Board today resolved, in compliance with a request from the City Council, to take steps to promote the passing of a Bill authorising the raising of a special loan, not exceeding £25,000, to complete the sewerage system in the city. The terms of the loan will be 25 years, and in the Bill power will be sought to enable tie Board to compel owners of buildings to connect water closets with the sewers, and if deemed expedient, to enable the Board to advance out of the loan the whole or part cost of such connections.
